What are the normal school hours?

The school day for students begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:50 p.m. Students may be dropped off as early as 8:00 a.m. (at no charge), and may be picked up by 3:15 p.m. (at no charge). Kidz Zone extended care is available to families from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., and 3:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

What do I do if my child is absent?

ALL absences must be called in each day that a student is absent (904-321-2137). When the student returns to school, he/she MUST bring a note from either a parent or doctor. It is the responsibility of the student to make up all work that has been missed.

What if my child is tardy?

Any student who is tardy for school MUST be checked in by a parent. Absences related to illness or injury of the student that exceed five (5) consecutive days or a total of ten (10) days requires a doctor’s note.

What should I do if we have moved?

If you have moved, please update your current address and phone number on your SchoolSpeak profile.

Is there a lunch program for the students?

At this point in time, FCA partners with local businesses to deliver lunch four days a week.  The menu includes food from Barberitos, Chick fil-A, and OPS.  Students may also bring in their own lunches.

My child requires medication. What should I do?

Florida State law requires that a special form be filled out and signed by the physician and parent/guardian of each student on medication. This form must be on file in the school clinic before a student can take any medication at school. All physicians have copies of this form.

Is there a dress code?

Please refer to the Parent Student Handbook for detailed information regarding the dress code.

Do you have a telephone and cell phone policy?

Students may place calls home for important situations only, as determined by the office staff. If your student needs to make arrangements to go home with another student, these arrangements must be made before arriving at school. Students may have cell phones; however, all cell phones must be turned off and out of sight.

What are the P.E. uniform requirements?

Third– eighth grade students are required to wear the FCA P.E. uniform shirt during P.E. class. The offical P.E. shirt is available for purchase in the front office at a cost of $7.50. Shorts are purchased separately by the family, and the shorts must be plain navy blue athletic shorts.
